Random number generator

Random numbers within a range, with or without repeats.

Runs in your browser

Allowed range: -1,000,000,000 to 1,000,000,000. Up to 1000 numbers at a time.

What it does: Random number generator

Generate one or more random whole numbers within the range you choose, including both ends. You can avoid repeats (useful for draws) and sort the result.

It uses crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, so every number in the range has exactly the same probability.

How to use it

  1. Enter the minimum and maximum values (both can come up).
  2. Choose how many numbers you need.
  3. Tick “No repeated numbers” if each number may appear only once.
  4. Press “Generate numbers” and copy the result.

Examples

Draw among 250 entrants

Minimum 1, maximum 250, count 3, no repeats: you get three different winners by entry number.

Dice roll

Minimum 1, maximum 6, count 1. For two dice, count 2 with repeats allowed.

Limits, formulas and assumptions

  • Allowed range from -1,000,000,000 to 1,000,000,000 and up to 1,000 numbers per draw.
  • Without repeats, the count cannot exceed the number of values in the range (maximum − minimum + 1).
  • Whole numbers only. For decimals, generate integers and divide (for example 0 to 1000 divided by 100).

Frequently asked questions

Are they truly random?

They use the browser's cryptographic generator, the same one used for encryption keys. It is unpredictable and unbiased.

Can I use it for official prize draws?

It's fine for informal draws. If the rules require a notary or a specific procedure, follow that procedure.

Are the minimum and maximum included?

Yes, both ends can come up.
